“Malachite dance” shows two fan-shaped leaves in green and gold on a pale board.
What the picture shows
Two fan-shaped leaves sit on the pale wooden board: the larger above, the smaller below, each turned a different way as if in motion. Every leaf is wound in green and malachite thread, and a golden band along the rim of the fan marks out the shape. The veins appear on their own, from the way the strands converge towards the base of the leaf and cross more densely there. The stems are thin and curved. Seventy-three Preciosa No. 6 beads in two colours are scattered over the field, and an LED garland is laid between the leaves. There are three thread colours, 41 m in all.
