Ikonen-Stickvorlage für Perlenstickerei (Kunstleinwand, ohne Perlen) „Heilige Wassilissa“

“St. Vasilisa” — the martyr in a blue veil and green robe, holding a cross. A calm icon built on a clear pair of colours: blue and green.

What the picture shows

The saint is shown to the waist, almost frontally. A blue veil worked in small beads covers her head and shoulders, with a small cross above the forehead. Below it falls a long green robe laid in broad vertical folds. Her right hand holds a pale cross before the chest, the left supports it from beneath. The halo is warm, made of orange and gold rings. The beading is partial: beads cover the figure, the veil, the halo, the corner ornaments and the border, while the cream background with its printed foliate pattern stays painted on the canvas. A red name plaque runs along the bottom.
