Beschreibung
Two swallows and sunflowers inside a golden circle — “The melody of swallows” is stitched on coffee canvas.
What the picture shows
One swallow perches on a stem with its blue-black wings folded and its rust-coloured throat turned towards you, while the second flies in from above with open wings. Between them stand three sunflowers with yellow petals and dark centres, green leaves and buds. A large circle worked in golden metallic thread frames the composition and takes 30 m of the total length. The coffee canvas inside the circle stays as the background and warms the whole scene. The sunflower petals are worked in two or three yellows around a brown centre, and the swallows’ feathers in blue with a black outline. The total thread length is 103 m.

A 240×240 mm square. It looks good in a round mount that echoes the golden circle; the finishing is chosen separately. The golden circle holds the composition, so no extra decoration is needed. Metallic thread is used in shorter lengths than cotton, which keeps it from fraying as you work.
