Perlenstickerei-Set Glücksbringer auf Kunstleinwand „Gebet zur heiligen Matrona (ukrainischer Text)“

Saint Matrona with a prayer rope, a green-and-white beaded border and a prayer printed in Ukrainian on the back.

What the picture shows

The image is printed on the canvas: the saint in green with a white kerchief, eyes closed, her right hand raised in blessing and a prayer rope in her left; the ground is warm ochre with painted scrollwork and an inscription beside her head. The embroidery covers only the border, and it is the border that sets the mood: white, green, gold and dark beads form large diamonds at the top and bottom, with gold along the sides. The palette is cooler than in the rest of the series, and green is the leading colour here. Dark and gold beads among the white give depth, so the border does not look flat.

The Ukrainian prayer text is what distinguishes this article from the identical kit with a Russian text. The format is 50×100 mm, four bead colours, simple level. The trims in the photo are bought separately. The image is printed on the canvas, so only the border around it is stitched.
