Perlenstickerei-Set Mini-Ikone auf Kunstleinwand „Heiliger Philippus“

“St. Philip” is a young apostle with an open scroll and a green cloak. Green with violet — an uncommon pair in the series.

What the picture shows

The apostle is shown to the waist, beardless, with wavy dark hair. A green cloak falls from his shoulders and covers his left arm, with a violet-red tunic beneath. Both hands hold an open scroll covered with lines of writing, lying diagonally across the lower part of the image. The halo is amber and the ground is golden rays with a few red dots at the top. The beading takes the clothing, the halo and the plaque frame, while the face, the hands and the field of the scroll remain printed, as does the radiance.

The finished embroidery is usually stretched over card and set into a narrow frame — the frame in the photograph is sold separately. At 100×150 mm the icon stays intimate, for a personal corner. Preciosa beads are calibrated, so the rows sit evenly even on the small details.
