What the picture shows
The apostle is shown to the waist, with a dark beard and wavy hair. The green tunic is worked in beads of two tones, and a wide omophorion in white-and-red checks laid in fine beads lies across his shoulders. His left hand holds a blue Gospel book with a red spine, his right is raised to his chest. The halo is amber and the ground is golden rays.
