Esquema de icono para bordar con abalorios sobre lienzo artístico (sin abalorios) «San Sviatoslav»
Descripción
“St. Svyatoslav” — a waist-length image of the holy prince in a crown, with a cross in his hand and a sword at his side.
What the picture shows
The prince is shown facing forward, with a fair beard and a calm gaze. On his head is a gold crown set with red and green stones and trimmed with fur. A burgundy-red cloak with a fur edge lies over his shoulders, and beneath it a blue-turquoise garment shows, with a vertical gold band and jewels across the chest. His right hand holds a gold cross; the hilt of a sword shows below, by his left hand. The halo is wide, from dense gold at the centre to a pale rim. The background is a light olive with printed leaf scrollwork; two fan-shaped corner motifs sit above, narrow amber-brown bands run down the sides, and a cartouche with the name closes the panel below. The beading is partial: the face, hands and background stay as printed on the canvas.
