What the picture shows

The three figures stand in a row on a cobbled pavement. On the left the eldest, grey-bearded, wears a blue cloak over pale robes; in the centre a young man in red carries a long lilac stole over his shoulder; on the right a red-bearded saint wears a light-blue cloak lined with red. Each holds a cross in his right hand and a censer or scroll in his left. The haloes are worked in concentric rings of green, ochre and pink. A small rectangular plaque with a name sits above each figure. The ground is pale blue with a fine pattern, with grey-brown cobbles below. The wide border carries a blue-violet and yellow geometric ornament with shaped arches at the top, and an inscribed plaque along the bottom. Coverage is partial — the figures, haloes, plaques and border ornament are beaded, while the pale ground stays printed on the canvas.
