“Tropical morning” is a decorative garden where the flowers are drawn in a festive, conventional way and hummingbirds dart between them. The mood is light and a little celebratory.

What the picture shows

The field is densely filled with large stylised blooms: a yellow one with long stamens at the centre, a crimson one below, an orange one, pinks and lilacs at the sides. The leaves are pointed and striped, with white and lime veins; a spiral curl like a lollipop sits in the top corner. Three hummingbirds move among the flowers: pink and white, turquoise with a long tail, and one more on the left with blue wings. The colours are clean and contrasting — yellow, crimson, emerald, turquoise, fuchsia — over a grey-green ground. Coverage is full: beads fill the whole field, background and small ornament included.
