“Blue Moth” — a large blue butterfly rests among pink flowers on a deep blue-and-turquoise ground. The mood is decorative, almost like stained glass.

What the picture shows

At the centre is the butterfly with its wings spread wide: nearly black next to the body, then shifting through cobalt to pale turquoise, with fine light strokes and dots along the wing edges. Around it are pink and lilac flowers with yellow centres, green leaves with cut edges, and yellow-and-red curls that look like ribbons. The background is blue with turquoise shimmer and a fine wave pattern.
