Descripción
“Autumn Stories” is a family of fly agaric mushrooms among ferns, lacy leaves and dried umbels on a pale background that looks like old paper.
What the picture shows
Four fly agarics of different heights stand in the centre: the tallest with a wide cap, a middle one beside it, another lower down and a tiny one. The caps run from dark burgundy to bright red and orange and are dotted with white, the stems are cream and pinkish. Behind them rise dried umbels, thin grass spikes and pale lacy leaves with visible veins, and a golden-brown fern frond curves on the left. At the bottom there is green moss, grey pine cones and autumn leaves outlined in orange and yellow beads.
The beading is partial. Beads cover the caps, the stems and the moss densely, while the leaves, the fern and the dried flowers are laid out in outlines and single beads, so the print shows through them. The ivory background stays printed on the canvas, and the red mushrooms glow against it. With 18 colours and about 3,725 beads, the piece is at a simple level and suits a first try at bead embroidery.

The pattern is printed straight on the canvas, so every bead goes on its own mark. It is easy to start with the mushroom caps, stitching the white dots together with the red row by row, then move on to the stems and the moss, and leave the lacy leaves and dried flowers for the end. Gallery finishing is provided for, with no frame and no mat. The frames, shelf, dried flowers, candles, mushrooms, acorns, nuts, bark, leaves and book in the photos are props for the shoot and are not part of the kit.
