What the picture shows

A round-bellied cup with a handle stands in the middle, worked in blue and light blue beads with a white rim; a large red-and-white heart sits on its side. A cap of cream in fine white and pink beads tops it, and two red hearts rise above. The background is a watercolour shift from pink at the top to turquoise at the bottom; it stays printed on the canvas, and the beads cover only the cup, the cream and the hearts. Nine colours give the cup depth and a slight sheen. The cream is set with the finest beads packed close together, while the sides of the cup are worked in longer rows, so the two textures differ clearly.
