“Cheshire Cat-1” shows a grinning cat face and a striped tail stitched separately from each other.

What the picture shows

The motif comes in two parts. Above is the cat’s face: grey-blue fur worked in short stitches running in every direction, large green eyes with narrow pupils, a pink nose, long white whiskers that reach well beyond the outline, and a wide grin with a row of small teeth. Below, stitched on its own, is the tail — curved like a crescent, striped in grey and turquoise, with the same ragged edges. Both parts have deliberately broken outlines, so the cat seems to be slowly disappearing. Twenty floss colours go mostly into the half-tones of the fur. The background is not stitched: in the photo it is dark blue denim.
