Icon Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "St. Liya"
Description
«St. Liya» shows the foremother with her hands folded on her breast; the striped white-and-blue veil is the most striking detail.
What the picture shows
The saint stands frontally, her head slightly bowed. The veil is white and pale blue in fine stripes, falling to her shoulders in two ends. Over it a green mantle in soft folds, and beneath it a deep red gown with gold trim. Her hands are folded on her breast, right over left. The halo is golden, with a beaded ornamental arch and name plaque above. Green and red take up almost equal areas here. Face and hands stay printed on the canvas, as does the cream embossed ground — the beading is not solid.

The finished piece, 230×300 mm, keeps its vertical line and needs no large wall. There is no shortage of fine work here: the face and hands are left open, so the bead line beside them should be run especially evenly — the whole image depends on it. The moulding shown in the picture is bought separately from the kit.
