Bookmark kits (cross-stitch)

Cross stitch bookmark kits are 5 designs with a stitched area of 65×180 mm. What sets the series apart is the box: every box holds two pieces of 14 count Aida, so you choose the background. The pairing depends on the design — white and black, two coffee, or two white — and the same picture reads very differently on each.

What is included

• Two pieces of 14 count Aida, 210×90 mm. The pairing depends on the design: white and black (“Mystic elixir”, “Mountain’s magic”), two coffee (“Floral talisman”, “Power of three”), two white (“Celestial Watch”).
• Threads, from 18 to 57 m depending on the design. “Mystic elixir” and “Power of three” include decorative metallic gold.
• A decorative tassel.
• A printed colour chart plus QR codes for a PDF and a mobile app file.

How long it takes

8–14 hours, so four to six evenings. It makes a good first cross stitch project: the whole cycle to a finished object before you have time to tire of it.

Questions and answers

Why are there two pieces of fabric?

So you can choose the ground, and so you have a second attempt if you need one. On a light ground the design reads airy, on black it turns high-contrast and the gold glows brighter. The exact pairing is listed in each kit’s description.

Is the tassel included?

Yes, a decorative tassel for the finished bookmark comes with the kit.

How do I handle metallic thread?

Cut shorter lengths, 30–40 cm, and let the needle hang free from time to time so the thread can untwist.
