Kit string art « Amanite tue-mouches »
Description
“Amanita” is a red fly agaric with white spots made of beads, on a dark board.
What the picture shows
The mushroom stands in the centre of the board. The cap is wide, slightly wavy at the rim and wound in red thread — densely, so the colour comes out strong. The white spots are not thread but beads: twenty larger Preciosa No. 6 beads and fifty smaller Preciosa No. 10 ones, and the difference in size is what makes the spots look alive. The stem is pale and thickened at the base, with a short band of green grass beneath it. There are five thread colours, 31 m in all, and the difficulty is simple.

The board is 190×290 mm (7.48×11.42 in). This is one of the simplest kits in the range: little thread, a clear silhouette and few colour changes. A good choice for a first try or for working together with a child. The kit holds 31 m of thread, and the work usually takes an evening or two. The threads are wound one colour after another, exactly as the chart shows.
