What the picture shows

A large white parasol stands open in the middle, and beneath it a table with a pale checked cloth and a pot of white hydrangea. On the left are a stone balustrade with terracotta planters and clipped greenery; on the right a wooden pergola wound with vines and a small table with a tray. Beyond the parasol the sun-filled garden opens up: tall trees with yellow-green crowns, shrubs, a path. Pink and white flowers bloom in the corners. The sky above is lilac-pink. Coverage is partial: the parasol, table, planters, pergola and flowers are beaded, while the painterly depth of the garden with its trees stays as print on the canvas.
