Description
“Spring saffron” shows an old kerosene lantern among crocuses and orange flowers.
What the picture shows
The lantern stands in the centre: grey-blue metal, a glass shade with highlights and a carrying ring on top. Violet crocuses with yellow centres grow at its base, with orange and terracotta flowers and narrow leaves beside them. Small buds are scattered around the edges of the composition. The coffee canvas is left unstitched and reads as early spring earth. Nineteen floss colours, 32 m. The glass of the shade is conveyed by pale vertical stitches set more sparsely than the metal of the body.

A 150×150 mm design, rated simple. A still life this size holds well next to other pieces from the series; the hoop for finishing is in the kit, a frame is chosen separately. The chart carries a SAGA QR code, where finished sections of the bouquet are easy to mark off. Stitch the crocuses after the lantern: they partly overlap its base. The subject fits well with the other spring designs in the series.
