Description
“Gift Machine” shows a red Beetle loaded with a Christmas tree and parcels.
What the picture shows
The car stands side-on in the lower part: the rounded body is stitched in red, cherry and pink beads, the wheels are black with silver hubs, the windows dark. A pink bow lies on the roof, and above it rises a whole heap — a green fir with a gold star and red baubles, a pale blue parcel with a blue ribbon, a lilac box with a turquoise bow, yellow, red and orange boxes, striped candy canes and a spiral lollipop. A brown teddy bear with a blue bow sits on the right, a red bauble hanging on a thread beneath it. The background is a pastel watercolour wash of pink, yellow and lilac and stays as print.
