The extended small-tool set: a magnetic needle holder, a needle threader and a small seam ripper.

How it works

The holder is made of two separate magnets. One has a patterned wooden base and sits on top of the fabric, the other goes behind it, directly underneath. The two neodymium magnets attract through the cloth, so the needle stays put when the work is set aside and the fabric takes no extra puncture. The threader — a fine metal loop in a handle — takes the thread through the eye in one movement. The ripper is for when a mistake is noticed late: its sharp hook goes under the cross and cuts the thread without touching the fabric. Pulling threads out with your fingers stretches the weave, so this tool saves the work itself, not only your patience.
