Description

“Baby dragon” is a turquoise and violet dragon curled into a circle on dark blue Aida. A square piece, 175×175 mm, with Czech microbeads added.

What the picture shows

The dragon lies coiled into a ring, its head turned toward its own tail. The wings are raised and spread like a fan across the top and take up most of the composition: the long membrane feathers are worked as a gradient from turquoise through pale blue to violet, with white highlights along the edges. The body is covered in large scales, the legs are tucked in, and the tail ends in a sharp point from which a curling plant scroll extends. The muzzle is elongated, with small horns and pointed ears. The dark blue Aida is left unstitched, so the silhouette reads crisply, like an emblem. Microbeads are scattered across the wings and give point highlights.
