Description
“Celestial Watch” is a bookmark with a winged sword: a golden hilt, a flowering stem along the blade and four translucent wings in a pink-and-lilac palette on white Aida.
What the picture shows
At the centre is a sword pointing downward. The hilt is gold: a rounded pommel, a bound grip and a broad crossguard set with pink stones. A slender stem winds along the blade, bearing green leaves and small pink and coral blossoms, as though the weapon had taken root. Behind the sword four large wings open in pairs, upward and downward: they are worked in pale pink, lilac and light green with a violet outline and stay translucent, so the ground shows through them. The whole field is sown with yellow dots and lilac stars, and a gold crescent moon sits in the upper right corner. The ground is white and left unstitched, which keeps the piece light and airy. A pink edging runs round the border.
