Description
“Color dance” shows a dancer whose dark dress breaks into a shower of green and red sparks.
What the picture shows
A woman with an upswept hairstyle and a golden corset stands on a cream ground. From the waist down a dark skirt opens out, and dense streams of beads run over it — emerald, grass green, crimson, yellow and gold, like confetti in motion. At the bottom they break off in a ragged edge, with a few drops flying off to the side. The face, shoulders and arms stay printed; the beads cover the corset, the skirt and the scatter, and the sequins add the glint. The streams differ in length and density: the green one falls lowest, the red breaks off halfway, and the gold scatters into separate dots.

The movement is vertical inside a 200×200 mm square, and it works well against a pale wall. The finished embroidery is gallery-mounted — no baguette, no passe-partout. There are fewer beads here than in neighbouring subjects — about 1,455 — so the work goes quickly. The cream ground stays clear right around the edge, so the piece needs no passe-partout even visually.
