Cross Stitch Kit "Unconditional Love"
Description
“Unconditional Love” shows a woman holding a child, with a mosaic of colour scattered behind them. The piece recalls stained glass: many small colour planes with clear borders.
What the picture shows
The woman’s face is bent towards the child, her eyes closed, her hair gathered up, a blue and gold crown with stones on her head. The girl leans against her, red hair falling onto her shoulder. The clothes of both are covered with elaborate ornament in blue, orange and gold. The background is built from diamonds and triangles — blue, yellow, white and terracotta patches radiating out from the figures. The faces are stitched softly with fine gradations, while everything else is flat. Count 18 fabric and 49 thread colours explain the high difficulty level. The ornament on the clothing never repeats: curls on the sleeve, circles on the chest, small flowers on the hem. The crown is built from separate blue and gold insets, each with a light highlight imitating the facet of a stone.
